We started the day like any other SEADUCK HUNT. We placed the team in the Carolina skiff and began positioning our decoy rig for the pending sunrise.
We were sitting outside of the spread in roughly 11 feet of water and Captain Stephanie saw a large rockfish roll to the surface. We started to cast and Stephanie and Chester hooked up on two 40 plus inch fish. Our charter called us on the Walkie Talkie and saw what just happened and made the request to switch from hunting to fishing. We quickly pulled an audible and headed back to the skiff and launched our trolling rig on the big boat! We could see large fish on the meter but didn't realize what was about to happen. It was GAME ON very quickly as we buried the rig and landed and safely released many Trophy fish over 40 inches. Christmas certainly came early for this group!
