What Kind of Charters do you offer?

Yes and its the very best part of our job! We enjoy being a part of a Junior Angler’s first fishing experience but it’s always best to communicate the number of children and age upfront with the captain. We take great pride in helping to establish the next generation of anglers while promoting responsible fishing to ensure our fishery’s future for generations to come.
What type of fish will we catch?
We Specialize in Trophy Striped Bass/ Rockfish and fish all methods including trolling, bottom fishing, live lining, and chumming. We also fish for Perch, Mackerel, Blue fish, Croaker, Spot and Drum.
What is required to book a trip?
The specific date you would like to reserve, any special requests, as well as a deposit for your trip.
*All charters must be confirmed with Captain Brandon Moore at 410-320-6254 prior to deposit and booking. Please do not send messages though social media. The best method is to call or text the Captain Brandon at 410-320-6254.
What is the maximum number of passengers allowed on a charter?
Base charter fee is for (6) people but Chasin Tail Charters is certified and can accommodate up to (28) passengers. The typical group size is between 8 and 12 passengers. If all possible, please gather a group of at least (8) people.
Do charter prices included Mate Tip?
Prices do not include Mate tip which is typically 20 to 30% of the overall charter price. Your mate works only for gratuities and will make all the difference in the trip. Some of his or her duties will include rigging tackle, catching live bait, cutting bait, baiting hooks, untangling lines, helping kids and teaching first timers how to fish, Cooking meals and cleaning fish. Mates typically arrive about one hour ahead of our scheduled departure time and may not leave until several hours after you leave.
Can you provide catering food options on the trip?
CTC offers a wide arrange of VIP food options for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Call or text the captain for more information.
Does your charter include fish cleaning?
Yes, we will fillet and bag your catch at the dock.
Do we need a fishing license?
No, if you are fishing on our boat you do not need to be registered or licensed.
What is our departure/return time?
Departure times are flexible, based on the charter. Your captain will work with you to determine a convenient departure and return time. Typical Charter duration is either the "Morning Trip" 6:00AM to 12:30 PM or "Afternoon Trip" 1:30 PM-7:30PM. Please be on time for the scheduled trip.
What should we bring on the charter?
We include fishing licenses, tackle, bait, and ice for your trip. You should consider the following: (1) Sunscreen – recommended to apply 1 hour before boarding and reapply as needed. (2) Sunglasses – Polarized Lenses are best for fishing. (3) Hat-Visors. (4) Shoes – Preferably non-marking white soles, that can get wet. Food and Drink – We have a cooler to accommodate your items. (5) Camera although we will be taking pictures and will provide images upon request. (6) Rain Gear. (7) Seasickness medication (non-drowsy) if you are prone to seasickness. Please consult your physician. (8) Food, snacks and beverages if a VIP food package is not requested. Please do not bring: Illegal drugs, contraband or GPS/Loran type devices.
What is your Alcohol and drug policy?
Alcohol is permitted but we ask that you drink responsibly and follow all federal, State and local laws. BYOB Alcohol consumption is permitted if moderated and presenting no safety concerns. Please bring cans instead of bottles when possible. Captain reserves the right to limit or withdraw alcohol consumption privileges. ** CTC follows Coast Guard regulations and has a strict no drugs policy.
Do I need a cooler?
You are more than welcome to bring a cooler. We can accommodate your drinks and food in our coolers on board, however you may want to have a cooler in your vehicle, to take home your catch.
What is the best way to avoid seasickness?
Take an over the counter motion sickness medication the evening prior, and the morning of the charter.
What is your cancellation policy?
Weather Cancellations. Your safety is our main concern and we monitor all marine weather and local forecasts. If the weather is not safe for fishing, we will happily return your deposit or reschedule.
If the weather conditions are safe for fishing, deposits will not be returned and full charter fee is due. If you cancel no less than seven days before your booked charter, the full charter price is due. If Charter is rebooked before the end of season at time of cancellation, Captain has discretion to waive cancellation fee. If we cancel for any reason, all deposits will be returned to you within seven days.
We only have a couple of people, can we share a charter with another group?
We have tried to arrange split charters in the past and 90% of the time, they did not work out. With split charters, you always have the risk of the other party canceling last minute and ruining your plans. You also have the chance of being paired with a group that has different goals and idea of fun than you.

We offer mounting services through Gray’s Taxidermy. Just let us know so we can take proper measurements of your catch, and submit the order for you.
